Fetty Wap in stable condition after motorcycle wreck

PATERSON, N.J., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Rapper Fetty Wap is in stable condition following a motorcycle accident this weekend.

"Fetty Wap was involved in a motorcycle incident earlier today," a representative confirmed to Rolling Stone magazine Saturday.

"He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. His family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time. We will provide an update on his condition as it becomes available."

DJ Louie Styles tweeted photos of the hip-hop artist awake in a hospital.

"wap is Gucci everybody thank you for your prayers," Styles tweeted. "#Amen"

The 24-year-old rapper was riding alone on his motorcycle in his hometown of Paterson, N.J., when he allegedly attempted to pass one vehicle, didn't see another one coming in the opposite direction and collided with it.

Fetty Wap's real name is Willie Maxwell. He is known for his hit songs "Trap Queen," "679" and "My Way."
