Justin Bieber redyes hair platinum blond

NEW YORK, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber is back to blond.

The 21-year-old Canadian singer sent fans into a frenzy by debuting platinum blond hair Thursday on Today. Bieber told the NBC morning show it took 2 1/2 hours to achieve his new look.

The pop star previously bleached his tresses in December 2014, leading Miley Cyrus to playfully accuse him of copying her style. Interest in Bieber's hair has grown so great he hid his head with a towel and hat while leaving a salon in April.

Bieber stopped by Today to promote and perform his new single, "What Do You Mean." The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its release in August, and will appear as the lead single on the star's upcoming fourth studio album.

Bieber last released Believe in June 2012, and completed his accompanying tour in December 2013. The singer will debut his new album Nov. 13, and reportedly make a cameo in the 2016 movie Zoolander 2 starring Ben Stiller.
