Kid Cudi reports he auditioned for latest 'Star Wars' film

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Recording artist Kid Cudi divulged to Twitter he attempted to land a role in J.J. Abrams' {i:Star Wars: The Force Awakens. } In response to a fan's mention of his "perfect" fit with the Star Wars franchise, Cudi -- real name Scott Mescudi -- revealed "I auditioned!! That whole experience alone was WILD."

"Happy I was able to get in the room and try! Blessed!" he wrote.

The exchange occured after Mescudi tweeted a link to an LA Times article mentioning Kylo Ren, The Force Awakens' villain.

If the Man On The Moon rapper did land a role in the upcoming Disney film, it would not be the first time he hit the big screen. Mescudi also appeared in the Entourage film and 2013's Need For Speed. He also appeared in HBO's How To Make It In America.
