Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner pictured smiling together after split

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Divorcing couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were spotted during a friendly encounter in Los Angeles Thursday.

The two actors were photographed leaving an office building together, smiling while approaching Affleck's car. Neither celeb wore their wedding ring, but they reportedly are remaining close for the sake of their three children: Violet, 9, Serephina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

The Daredevil co-stars confirmed their divorce plans in June after months of speculation regarding their relationship.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said at the time. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."

Since then, both have spent considerable time together and with their children. The family spent the summer in Atlanta while Garner filmed Miracles from Heaven, taking time out of their schedules to take their children to the Bahamas and Universal Orlando.

Garner has been living with the kids at the family home, which is under renovation, while Affleck has been staying in a nearby rental.

The estranged couple reportedly planned to remain neighbors for the sake of the children, however the construction work on Garner's house has caused her to reconsider the arrangement.
