Arielle Baril, Siro-A impress on 'America's Got Talent'

NEW YORK, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Season 10 of America's Got Talent entered into its semi-final stage Tuesday, with dazzling performances and plenty of jaw-dropping moments.

Eleven acts took the stage including 12-year-old opera singing sensation, Arielle Baril along with video mapping dance troupe Siro-A.

Baril blew audiences away with opera classic Nessun Dorma by Luciano Pavarotti, one of the hardest opera songs to perform impressing all of the judges.

"You check off all the boxes of a winning act," judge Heidi Klum said. "I'm so happy that I pushed my golden buzzer for you. I am so proud of you," the model mentioned referring back to the show's initial auditions in which Klum used her golden buzzer pick to send the young singer straight to the quarterfinals.

Baril's beautiful singing even seemed to move controversial radio-host Howard Stern. "What I like to do with you is, I close my eyes while you sing sometimes. And I go, 'That voice cannot be coming out of someone so young.' And it really is quite remarkable," said the judge. "And you really exemplify what this show is about."

Another golden buzzer pick, Siro-A, also dazzled with another colorful and mind-bending dance performance. The Japanese dance group performed an imaginative routine which combined digital dancers with live performers. The judges absolutely loved what they saw and gave Siro-A a standing ovation.

Judge Mel B was floored saying "That was so entertaining. I didn't know what was real, what was projection, what was human. I didn't know what was going on! But all I know is I absolutely loved it. You guys are serious contenders...Everyone else better beware, big time."

Other standouts included Oz Pearlman who correctly predicted which drink Stern would choose while Klum covered his eyes and comedian Drew Lynch who kept the audience laughing throughout his set.

Out of the 11 acts that performed Tuesday, only five of them will make it to the finals while the other six will be eliminated on Wednesday. The remaining 11 acts in the second group of contestants will take part in a second semi-final round next week. A total of 10 acts will appear in the finals.

America's Got Talent will air their first semi-final results Wednesday and can be live streamed on NBC's official website.
