LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The 13-episode revival of the NBC-ordered sitcom Coach has been cancelled after the filming of just the pilot.

According to reports, the network's straight-to-series order was scrapped Monday by producers over creative differences. The show's studio, Universal TV, is expected to shop elsewhere -- like Netflix -- to give Coach a more suitable home.

NBC originally ordered 13 episodes of the football-centric sitcom -- which was to bring back Craig T. Nelson as Coach Fox -- in late March. After reevaluating the first episode, however, Deadline reports some felt the revamping attempt to still be "dated."

Coach was slated to be a sequel to the popular '90s series, featuring Nelson's character returning to the sidelines as assistant coach for his son -- the head coach of an Ivy League school.
