NEW YORK, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Host Jimmy Kimmel cleared up any VMA-fueled misunderstandings using nothing but emoji on Monday night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The television personality turned to his wall of America back-tracking to earlier last week, when Miley Cyrus commented on rapper Nicki Minaj's apparent beef with "Bad Blood" singer Taylor Swift. After putting things in context, Kimmel simply described -- through emoji -- exactly what happened between the raunchy VMA host and Best Hip-Hop Video winner.

The host concluded with an apparent Kanye West emoji and an American flag to signify the rapper's announcement of his 2020 presidential campaign.

After being presented with the Video Vanguard Award Sunday night, West took to the microphone to deliver a memorable speech thanking presenter Taylor Swift, describing the music industry and his career, and talking parenting before announcing his 2020 presidential bid.

"And, yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president," he said.
