LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Bill Wolff, executive producer of ABC's The View, has chosen to leave the daytime talk show in pursuit of new options.

According to reports, Oprah Winfrey Show producer Candi Carter will take the reigns after The View's 19th season launches.

Wolff reportedly decided to leave amicably and on his own accord a year after opting for the ABC reality talk show over his brainchild, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show. He will stay with The View for another week ahead of its Sept. 9 season premiere.

"We are all enormously grateful to Bill for his incredible leadership in re-launching the show last fall, moving The View staff and set to a new location, welcoming returning friends and new co-hosts to our View family and planning ahead for a terrific season 19" ABC News President James Goldston wrote in a memo.

"He leaves The View well positioned for even brighter days this fall, and I am personally grateful that over the next few weeks Bill will help ensure a smooth transition and kick off the new season."

Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris and Joy Behar will be featured on the Whoopi Goldberg-mediated panel this season. Raven Symone and Michelle Collins will also act as co-hosts on the talk show.
