Ne-Yo is father to 4-year-old daughter Madilyn and 3-year-old son Mason with ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw. The news sparked criticism from those who blame the singer for encouraging Shaw to have her tubes tied before the pair broke up.

"Clearing the air.. I didn't force Mo to tie her tubes. Mutual decision. And the procedure is reversible. #SheCanHaveKids #FromTheHorsesMouth," he wrote in response. "I'm aware I don't have to explain everything. I did [so] for my fans, my supporters. No BS and lies."

Ne-Yo and Renay have been together since early 2014, and the model celebrated the news by sharing a photo with the singer on Instagram. "'No matter what they say' our Miracle is on the way and I couldn't feel more blessed," she said in response to critics.
