STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- The Girl in the Spider's Web, a new novel featuring antiheroine Lisbeth Salander, has been published. The fourth book in the Millennium series was written by Swedish journalist and author David Lagercrantz.
The first three installments -- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest -- were penned by Stieg Larsson, who died in 2004 at the age of 50. His trilogy was published posthumously and later adapted as a film franchise.
The Daily Beast, which deemed Lagercrantz's followup "thoroughly enjoyable," said the fourth book follows Lisbeth, the brilliant, but antisocial computer hacker, as she tries to track down what is left of her late father's criminal empire.
The novel reveals more about Lisbeth's childhood and how she became so skilled in computers. It was published internationally last Thursday and will be available in the United States this coming Tuesday.
