NEW YORK, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart was body slammed by WWE Superstar John Cena Monday, one night after the comedian cost Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Stewart hosted WWE's flagship August event, SummerSlam, on Sunday, doing more than just cracking jokes and amping up the crowd. During John Cena's championship match against Seth Rollins, Stewart entered the match and attacked Cena with a chair, resulting in a loss for the 15x world champion.

Cena then returned the favor on WWE's weekly televised program Monday Night Raw, delivering his devastating patented move, the Attitude Adjustment.

Immediately after hearing Stewart's reasoning, Cena picked up the TV personality and rested him on his shoulders before throwing him into the air and slamming him back down on his back. Stewart was later seen needing the help of WWE officials to make it to the backstage area.

A longtime fan of pro-wrestling, Stewart has been active with WWE this year inviting WWE champ Seth Rollins to the Daily Show twice and made an appearance on Monday Night Raw back in March.
