LONDON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Ed Sheeran's rep has denied Nicole Scherzinger romance rumors. The 24-year-old English singer's rep told The Sun the relationship is not romantic after the tabloid reported Sheeran is dating the 37-year-old American recording artist. Scherzinger is said to have reached out to the singer following her breakup with Lewis Hamilton.

"As far as he's concerned they were in the early stages of dating and he's been open about it with close friends and colleagues," a source told the publication. "It may not develop beyond those dates but they're definitely tight."
Scherzinger shared a photo with Sheeran on Instagram in July, writing, "Okay okay you win @teddysphotos, you're taller #UOENO." The pair have spent more time together recently and visited the Station Hotel in Sheeran's hometown last month.
Scherzinger dated Hamilton on and off from 2007 to February 2015, and was spotted kissing Pajtim Kasami at her birthday celebration in June. Sheeran, meanwhile, was previously involved with Ellie Goulding and Athina Andrelos.
