LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Britney Spears will reportedly remain under a conservatorship indefinitely.

The 33-year-old singer was placed under a conservatorship headed by father Jamie Spears in 2008 following her psychiatric hold. The star's finances are controlled under a separate conservatorship.

Spears was involuntarily hospitalized in 2008 following her very public breakdown, which included the star famously shaving her head. TMZ reports the conservatorships helped stabilize Spears and facilitated her to regain custody of her two sons and turn around her finances.

"There is no reason to break the conservatorship with everything working so well," an insider told Us Weekly magazine. "Everything is working perfectly under this arrangement and it will stay that way."

Spears has since released three successful albums, including the 2013 record Britney Jean. The singer kicked off her first residency show at The Axis at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas in December 2013, and will continue to perform at the resort and casino through December 2015.
