OGUNQUIT, Maine, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Beloved, comic actress Valerie Harper has taken to Facebook to shoot down media reports claiming she is in a coma after she collapsed at a theater in Maine this week.

Harper, 75, is battling brain cancer. She was hospitalized Wednesday after falling ill at the Ogunquit Playhouse where she was performing in the stage comedy You Can't Take It With You.

"As always, thank you for your amazing support. I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma," read Harper's Friday Facebook post.

"As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn't always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves. I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life."

She concluded: "But I must confess that the highlight of this ordeal came when I was escorted by two handsome young men and a pilot, in a medivac helicopter, as the full moon lit the sky. Talk about movie magic!!!"

Harper is best known for her work on the sitcoms The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda and Valerie, as well as for competing on Dancing with the Stars.
