Amanda Seyfried cuts hair short for Locks of Love

The actress previously had long hair down to her waist.

NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- Amanda Seyfried cut her signature long hair short for Locks of Love this week.

The 29-year-old actress revealed her new, shoulder-length haircut with the help of her dog Flynn on Instagram. Seyfried teased the change with a photo of her pet before unveiling the actual 'do.

"Finn is wearing my #locksoflove," she captioned a picture of the pooch wearing clippings of her hair. "New haircut/old friend #CledeTomoko #cledepeaubeaute @cledepeaubeauteus," she added.

Locks of Love is a non-profit that accepts donations of human hair to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical conditions. Ann Curry, Katie Couric and Portia de Rossi are among the other celebrities who support the charity.

Seyfried last appeared in Ted 2 with Mark Wahlberg, and is scheduled for a number of upcoming projects. The actress will star in Pan with Hugh Jackman, Fathers and Daughters with Russell Crowe and Young Americans with Daniel Radcliffe.
