WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., July 30 (UPI) -- Actor and director Jason "Jace" Alexander, 51, was charged Wednesday by Westchester County Police with possessing and promoting child pornography.

An investigation by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office linked Alexander to child pornography stored on his computer through a corresponding IP (internet protocol) address. A search through his computer files at home showed a wealth of digital content featuring children under 16 engaged in pornography.

In June, Alexander was also elected the second vice president of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), which has not commented on the charges.
