LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- Reports say Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert want to move on as friends after a friendly Twitter exchange raised suspicion.

A source tells Us Weekly the freshly split duo wants to continue a cordial relationship despite their high-profile divorce.

"There are no hard feelings," they told the outlet. "They want to move on as friends, and they are doing just that."

Last week, the Voice coach tweeted at his ex-wife to promote singer Ashley Monroe's new album. "Hey @mirandalambert can u believe there's people who haven't bought @ashleymonroe new album?" he tweeted. "Isn't that shocking?!!"

Minutes later, the Lambert replied with equal cordiality, writing: "I can't because it is the best work she has ever done! I love it!"

The exchange confused the former couple's followers, many assuming it meant the two were back together. Others saw it as an "awkward" conversation in the midst of the circumstances.

After six years of dating and four years of marriage, Shelton and Lambert announced their divorce earlier this month. Reports say the entertainers split their finances so Lambert keeps their family home in Nashville while Shelton acquires their ranch in Oklahoma.
