SYDNEY, July 29 (UPI) -- Tyler the Creator fans took to Twitter Tuesday and Wednesday to wage threatening messages agains the head of feminist group Collective Shout.

He is slated to perform shows in Australia from Sept. 3 -8. In the meantime, grassroots feminist organization Collective Shout and its director of operations, Coralie Alison, have campaigned to keep the rapper out of the country by revoking his visa.

Although Tyler tweeted that Alison had succeeded in keeping him out of Australia, the country's Department of Immigration and Border Protection clarified that it was still in the process of assessing Tyler's visa. Essentially, Tyler's claim remains incorrect, although the department has raised issues with the visa, but not officially refused it.

Tyler's tweet incited violent and obscene comments from supposed fans of the performer against Alison via Twitter, which Alison notes is particularly aggressive.

It has not been confirmed when the decision on Tyler's visa will be issued.

In 2013, a Collective Shout activist named Talitha Stone led a similar campaign against Tyler and endured threats. Tyler even used profanity while speaking about her during a performance. Unbeknownst to Tyler, Stone was in the audience at the Enmore Theater. Stone's campaign was unsuccessful in Australia, but did get him banned in a then upcoming 2014 festival in New Zealand on the grounds that he represented a threat to public order and the public interest.
