NEW YORK, July 28 (UPI) -- Liam Neeson raised concern with his frail appearance over the weekend.

The 63-year-old actor was photographed looking uncharacteristically sickly and gaunt as he walked in SoHo on Saturday. Neeson appeared much healthier at the New York premiere of Ted 2 on June 24.

"He has never been healthier," the star's rep insisted to the Daily Mail. "He has just completed work on one film and starts another in September." The rep told TMZ the actor lost weight after changing his diet and exercise regime, and said the photo was simply an unflattering picture.

Neeson spoke to the Daily Mail ahead of his birthday last month, admitting, "My birthday is a touchy subject. I'm going to be 63. Nobody wants to be 63! I'm getting old. What I want more than anything is for [my birthday] to be ignored. I just hate it and it makes me feel vulnerable."

The actor starred in the action-heavy Taken 3 in 2014, and last appeared in Ted 2. He is scheduled for a Martin Scorsese adaptation of the Shusaku Endo novel Silence with Andrew Garfield and A Monster Calls with Felicity Jones.
