Joe Jackson in Brazilian hospital after suffering stroke

SAO PAULO, July 27 (UPI) -- Joe Jackson has been admitted into the Intensive Care Unit at Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo, Brazil after suffering a stroke TMZ reported.

The father of singers Janet Jackson and the late Michael Jackson was in Brazil celebrating his 87th birthday and was taken to the hospital after experiencing dizziness and impaired vision.

According to a statement made by Albert Einstein hospital, the former Jackon 5 manager was admitted Sunday evening due to an irregular heartbeat. He is still undergoing tests.

USA Today reports the star missed his birthday party on Sunday due to his conditions. A photo of Jackson was posted on his official website and on Twitter showing him surrounding by a catering staff.

The photo caption read: "Nothing but love from Brazil. Sao Paulo is showering me with love and kindness."

Just a few hours before the incident Janet tweeted a message to her father saying "Wishing my father @Joe5Jackson a Happy Birthday. I want to tell the world, I love and honor you."
