ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- Vicki Gunvalson says she doesn't regret learning of mom Joanne Steinmetz's death on camera.

The 53-year-old reality star discussed her mother's death with Andy Cohen on Monday's episode of Watch What Happens Live. Steinmetz died at age 83 in February, and Gunvalson received word of her death while filming The Real Housewives of Orange County.

"It's part of my reality," she said of the cameras that captured her reaction to the news. "I lost my mother. I signed up for all areas of my life to be exposed -- the good and the bad ... This is not a moment that I feel, as of right now, that I regret [being filmed]."

Gunvalson followed up with a blog post about Steinmetz's death, saying she was able to visit her mom shortly before she died. She admitted watching the Real Housewives episode was like "reliving a nightmare," but reiterated it was a "chance" she took by filming the reality show.

"It's a surreal place to be and I know some of you have already experienced losing your parent or parents," she wrote. "It's an empty feeling, a lonely feeling, and one that I almost can't even put to words ... I miss her so much, but know one day I will be with her in Heaven and at peace."

Gunvalson has starred on The Real Housewives of Orange County since its premiere in March 2006. The Bravo show inspired several other Real Housewives series, including The Real Housewives of New York City, and airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
