'Ghostbusters 3' villain announced

WASHINGTON, July 7 (UPI) -- The new Ghostbusters 3 film has announced Other Space star Neil Casey is joining the female-led cast as its villain.

It was announced on Tuesday that Casey will be joining the Paul Feig written and directed Ghostbusters 3. While the details of Casey's character have not been announced, it was confirmed he is signed on.

Deadline reported that the film which has already begun shooting, the details surrounding Casey's character have been kept under wraps. Casey joins an already large cast which include Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

Casey, a former writer on SNL, has worked with Wiig, Jones and McKinnon before and currently stars in Feig's series Other Space. In addition to Casey, Ghostbusters 3 has added Chris Hemsworth as a male version of Jeanine Melnitz the famous Ghostbusters secretary.

The addition of Casey comes days after Tech Times reported the addition of Andy Garcia as New York City's Mayor and Michael K. Williams whose character is simply known as "Hawkins." While no additional information has been released about the other characters or the plot, it is confirmed Ghostbusters 3 is due out July 22, 2016.
