WASHINGTON, July 6 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber, 21, isn't a fan of sharks following a minor attack on his friend.

On Sunday, the pop star put up a photo of entourage member Joe Termini after an encounter with a reef shark. New York Daily News reports the injuries to Termini's chest and ribcage were deep, but not life-threatening.

Bieber put the graphic photo on his Instagram, along with the caption: "Exactly why I hate sharks, they told us reef sharks don't bite @joetermini." Termini also posted his own photo documenting the attack, which was much closer and more graphic than Bieber's.

The pop singer was in Australia recently for the Hillsong Conference, led by his spiritual leader Joel Houston. Though the attack happened in an undisclosed tropical location, Bieber did manage to joke about in a tweet, later stating, "Hey @joe_termini it's #SharkWeek lol"
