Katy Perry out ranks Taylor Swift as highest paid artist

JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 29 (UPI) -- Katy Perry was ranked the the third highest paid celebrity by Forbes magazine this year.

According to the magazine's World's Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2015 list, Perry brought in $135 million dollars this year, coming in behind Manny Pacquiao's $160 million and Floyd Mayweather's $300 million, making her the highest paid musician in the world.

A large part if the "Dark Horse" singer's income stemmed from her Prismatic World Tour.

Perry, who landed the latest cover on Forbes, played 124 shows during Forbes' tracking period.

The magazine noted 75 shows took place abroad in 27 countries. Perry's managers say that 60 percent of her income now comes from overseas markets.

Editor Randell Lane tweeted a "sneak preview" of the magazine cover, saying Perry was "dressed for success."

"I'm an entrepreneur," Perry told that magazine in an interview. "I don't want to shy away from it. I actually wanted to kind of grab it by its balls."

Entertainment Tonight reported that though Perry triumphed independently over her frenemy Taylor Swift, who made the list at No. 8 with $80 million, the "Bad Blood" singer and boyfriend Calvin Harris topped the list as highest-paid celebrity couple at $146 million.

One Direction ranked fourth in the top paid celebrity list with $130 million, Beyonce at No. 29 with $54.5 million and Kim Kardashian right behind her with $52.5 million.
