NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- Caitlyn Jenner visited New York City over the weekend to attend events celebrating NYC Pride, where she made her first public appearance since her Vanity Fair debut earlier this month.

The 65-year-old reality star surprised crowds Sunday at Chelsea's Dream Hotel, which was hosting an event featuring transgender actress Candis Cayne.

According to Entertainment Tonight, partygoers started shouting "We love you, Caitlyn," while Cayne dedicated a performance of "I Am Woman" to Jenner.

Camera crews were on hand to document the event for Jenner's upcoming reality show, I Am Cait.

"You could tell she was touched by the love and pride of the performance and attendees," a witness told ET. "She showed grace and beauty and represented what this weekend is all about."
