LOS ANGELES, June 22 (UPI) -- UCLA police arrested Sean "Diddy" Combs on an assault with a deadly weapon charge Monday after the rapper allegedly got into a fight with his son's football coach.

Combs' son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back for the UCLA Bruins football team.

The incident took place about 12:30 p.m. at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex. Police said there was an alleged assault at the facility involving a kettleball, a ball-shaped, metal piece of weightlifting equipment with a handle on it.

No one was injured in the confrontation.

Police didn't say who else was involved in the altercation, but sources told TMZ that Combs was arguing with UCLA football strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Combs was allegedly upset that Alosi was being hard on his son during practice Sunday.

There are conflicting reports on who started the physical aspect of the fight.

Combs was expected to be booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center later Monday.
