AUSTIN, Texas, June 11 (UPI) -- Rumer Rain Rogers, the newborn daughter of country singer Randy Rogers and his wife, Chelsea, died Tuesday. She was only 6 days old.

Born in Austin, Texas, Rumer looked like a healthy baby girl, but her brain was what Rogers said "very sick." The band confirmed the unfortunate news on Facebook Wednesday in a brief post assuring that little Rumer died comfortably in her parents' arms.

On June 3, Randy Rogers tweeted a photo of the new addition to his family writing, "It's a good day, friends." But things quickly turned around when the baby faced health complications.

"She died after a week-long battle with a very rare condition," Rogers said in a statement to a Houston radio station. "I'm sure you all have many questions and we have all the answers the doctors gave us. We can share the story with you. It's quite an extraordinary one. A memorial will be planned soon. We love you."
