NASHVILLE, May 26 (UPI) -- Carrie Underwood took to Instagram to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her American Idol win Monday.

The 32-year-old singer marked the occasion by sharing a throwback photo and expressing her gratitude to the Fox reality competition.

"So hard to believe it's been 10 years! I'm forever grateful to American Idol for changing my life! #blessed," she wrote.

Underwood beat out Bo Bice to win season four in May 2005, and released her debut album, Some Hearts, later that year. The singer won three of her seven Grammy awards for the record, and last released Blown Away in 2012.

American Idol will come to a close following its upcoming 15th season. The series has consistently lost viewers over the years, in part due to similar shows such as NBC's The Voice, and will air its final season in 2016.
