SYDNEY, May 22 (UPI) -- Elle Australia's first cover model Nicole Trunfio returned to the magazine to pose with her new born baby, Zion for June's cover.

The newsstand version of the style magazine features a classic, Prada-clad Trunfio holding her sleeping bundle of joy sans diaper; but another version of the cover shows Trunfio sans top, breastfeeding her child.

In the photo taken by photographer Georges Antoni, Trunfio, 29, dons an open suede coat and billowing skirt while little Zion feeds from his mother's breast. The powerful image was created spontaneously when the team noticed the beauty of the mother-son connection during a break on set.

They asked the model to return before the camera to capture the moment, resulting in a glowing image of unadulterated motherhood.

"This wasn't a contrived situation: Zion needed a feed, Nicole gave it to him, and when we saw how beautiful they looked we simply moved her onto the set," the magazine's editor-in-chief Justine Cullen said. "It was a completely natural moment that resulted in a powerful picture."

Model Trunfio said: "When I saw the cover of me breastfeeding, which was unplanned and just natural, I teared up and thought, 'Wow this is such a special moment where my worlds have collided.'"

Response to the new cover has been overwhelmingly positive, Today reports. The model took to Instagram to back up her stance on normalizing breastfeeding: "The last thing I want to do is be controversial, so please take this for what it is, let us #normalizebreastfeeding there is nothing worse than a mother that is judged for feeding her hungry child in public," she wrote.

"I obviously don't look like this while I am breastfeeding but this stands for all women out there, whether you breastfeed or not," Trunfio continued in her post. "We gave birth, we are women, we are mothers. Thank you to Elle for being so bold and making such an encouraging, positive and healthy statement. #womenunite."
