LOS ANGELES, May 22 (UPI) -- Reports that once-enamored co-stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are spending more time together beg the question: are they back on?

The former couple, which split after three years, were spotted in California this week enjoying a meal together inside the Malibu Farm restaurant and holding hands, sources told E! News.

To further fuel rumors, Stone brought Garfield's parents along with her own mother to a screening of her new film, Aloha, in London on May 16. She told Entertainment Tonight there that they were "good, good friends."

Multiple news outlets released reports of Stone, 26, and 31-year-old Garfield's split in early April citing issues related to distance and work. At the time, the Amazing Spiderman actor was in Taiwan shooting Martin Scorsese's Silence while Stone remained in New York.

Earlier this month, the Birdman actress gushed over her ex to Interview magazine after being reminded of his romantic comments about working with her.

"He is such a poet," she said. "But that's the way he writes in general. So I hear it and of course my heart swells up. And I also know that he writes things like that on a daily basis."
