Josh Brolin engaged to former assistant Kathryn Boyd

LOS ANGELES, May 19 (UPI) -- Josh Brolin is engaged to his former assistant Kathryn Boyd.

People confirmed Monday that the 47-year-old actor proposed to Boyd, a model, two months ago.

Us Weekly said the couple, who began dating in March, 2013, celebrated their engagement in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with a large group of friends.

"They were kissing each other a lot, had their arms around each other," a witness said of the festivities. "Super affectionate all night."

Brolin was arrested in 2013 on charges of public intoxication, but told USA Today last January that he had turned a new leaf.

"I'm in a totally different space," Brolin said. "I'm the happiest I've ever been, other than having my kids. I wake up in the morning and I'm actually happy."

Brolin was married to actress Diane Lane for eight years until their divorce was finalized in 2013. He has two children with his first wife, Alice Adair. Brolin and Adair divorced in 1994.
