LONDON, May 2 (UPI) -- Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a daughter in London Saturday.

This is the second child for her and her husband, Prince William.

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am," Kensington Palace announced via Twitter.

"The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth," the officials added. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales & The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry & members of both families have been informed. ... Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

The little princess' name has not been announced yet.

Her parents have been married since April 29, 2011 and she has a brother George, who will turn 2 in July.

Prince William is the son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. He is the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.
