LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- Showtime is saying peace to the Middle East and taking the fifth season of 'Homeland' to Germany.

The network announced Monday that the drama is changing its set location, also donning it as the first American show to be completely filmed in Germany. Entertainment Weekly says that the show will be filmed at Studio Babelsberg in Berlin.

The series will jump forward two-and-a-half years from season four to five, where viewers last see Claire Danes' character, Carrie Mathison returning to the States after an explosive mission in Islamabad. Showtime came under fire last season when Pakastani officials were furious at the shows depiction of the country.

Pakistan Embassy spokesman, Nadeem Hotiana, told The New York Post: "Maligning a country that has been a close partner and ally of the US . . . is a disservice not only to the security interests of the US but also to the people of the US."

Scene's were filmed in Cape Town, South Africa instead of Islamabad and a source told the Post, "Islamabad is a quiet, picturesque city with beautiful mountains and lush greenery, In 'Homeland,' it's portrayed as a grimy hellhole and war zone where shootouts and bombs go off with dead bodies scattered around. Nothing is further from the truth."

Hopefully a new home for "Homeland" will prevent those issues from happening again in the future.

The new season is set to premiere in the fall.
