LOS ANGELES, April 21 (UPI) -- Kylie Jenner's pout has been the target of plastic surgery speculation over the past several years.

The 17-year-old has continually denied any enhancement procedures, telling E! News, "I feel like everyone has been talking about it for months, so I'm kind of sick of it." Jenner continued, "I pout them out a lot. I think big lips are awesome."

This dangerous method of plumping the pout, known as the viral #KylieJennerChallenge taking over social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, can be damaging to ones mouth. USA Today reports that the method, which involved sucking air out of shot glasses to cause swelling, can cause "bruising and scarring around the mouth"

Those considering using this technique because they have seen faltering results before should think again. Dr. Dendy Engelman, a board certified dermatologic surgeon, told Seventeen.com, "there is potential risk for scarring and permanent disfigurement with repeated attempts."
