Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse on the beloved 90s sitcom, said the official Full House reunion has been a "labor of love."

"We were really trying for so many years to do it right and I think we finally got it perfect," Stamos said.

Netflix said Monday night that Fuller House will star Candace Cameron Bure, reprising her role as D.J. Tanner, as the recently widowed and pregnant mother of two boys.

Her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) and Kimmy's teenage daughter, Ramona, move in to give her a helping hand.

Full House and Fuller House executive producers Robert L. Boyett, Thomas L. Miller and Jeff Franklin said in a statement that "continued support of Full House fans of all ages for the last 28 years has been astounding."

"The love you saw on the show was real," the statement continued. "The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life."

Netflix said it is still in discussion with Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin about making guest appearances.

Asked whether the Olsens would return, Stamos said, "We're trying to get everybody."

Fuller House is slated to premiere in 2016.
