Richard Dysart of 'L.A. Law' fame dead at 86

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 9 (UPI) -- Emmy Award-winning L.A. Law star Richard Dysart has died at his home in Santa Monica after a long battle with cancer. He was 86.

His family told TMZ Thursday that Dysart passed away this past Sunday. The type of cancer he was diagnosed with several years ago was not disclosed.

Dysart was a Boston native and Korean War veteran. His film credits include Pale Rider, The Last Days of Patton, Mask, The Falcon and the Snowman, and Back to the Future III.
