Ireland Baldwin shares 'appendicitis swag' photo from hospital

LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- Ireland Baldwin underwent an emergency appendectomy over the weekend.

The 19-year-old daughter of actor Alec Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger was hospitalized with severe stomach cramps Thursday, according to E! News, and confirmed she had appendicitis in a Twitter post Friday afternoon.

"Appendicitis swag," she captioned a photo of herself in a wheelchair. "Thanks for all of your concern."

Alec Baldwin reportedly met Baldwin minutes after her arrival at the hospital, but was able to celebrate his 57th birthday with wife Hilaria Baldwin and toddler daughter Carmen that evening. Hilaria Baldwin shared a picture from the occasion, writing, "Happy birthday dada."

Alec Baldwin and Basinger were married from 1993 to 2002, and welcomed Baldwin in 1995. The actor went on to wed Hilaria Baldwin in 2012, and Carmen Baldwin was born in 2013. The couple announced they are expecting their second child in January.
