LOS ANGELES, March 30 (UPI) -- Jamie Foxx made waves with jokes about reality star Bruce Jenner during his hosting of the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday.

During his opening remarks, the Oscar and Grammy winning actor and musician poked fun at Jenner's alleged transition from male to female telling the audience the former Olympian would be performing "a his-and-her duet all by himself." When the audience cracked up in laughter, Foxx explained he was only joking.

"Look, I'm just busting your balls while I still can," he said to more laughs.

But while some event attendees were seen laughing out loud at the comments, the Internet had a different reaction to the remarks.

"Boo! Shame on you #iHeartAwards for allowing @iamjamiefoxx to be transphobic on national television!" tweeted entertainment blogger Perez Hilton. "Those #BruceJenner jokes were wrong!!!"

The iHeartRadio Awards aired Sunday on NBC, featuring performances by Nick Jonas, and a Madonna/Taylor Swift duet.
