HOLLYWOOD, March 5 (UPI) -- Film and television actor Chris O'Donnell received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday, becoming the 2,544th entertainer to leave a mark on perhaps Tinseltown's most famous attraction.

The ceremony included O'Donnell's family, friends, members of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and current television co-star LL Cool J.

"I not only want to congratulate you for this day, because you definitely deserve it and it's a wonderful achievement, but more importantly I want to thank you for helping me grow," LL Cool J said to O'Donnell at the ceremony.

"This is kind of indescribable, to say the least," O'Donnell said when he took the microphone. "It's very rare to get all seven of the O'Donnell siblings together."

O'Donnell, 44, began his showbiz career appearing in an episode of the 1986 ABC TV series Jack and Mike. He made his film debut four years later, at the age of 20, in the Jessica Lange comedy-drama Men Don't Leave.

O'Donnell then embarked on arguably his most successful decade, appearing in high-profile films like Fried Green Tomatoes, School Ties and the critically acclaimed Scent of a Woman -- in which he co-starred with screen legend Al Pacino, who himself earned an Oscar for portraying a blind former U.S. Army officer. O'Donnell's performance in the film secured him a Golden Globe nomination.

The Irish-American actor is perhaps best known for his dual role of Dick Grayson/Robin in Joel Schumacher's two Batman films -- Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.

After the turn of the century, O'Donnell began appearing more often in television roles in series like The Practice, Two and a Half Men and Grey's Anatomy. He currently stars in CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles, now in its sixth season.

O'Donnell's star can be found at 6681 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Jameson's Irish Pub.

"Apparently, I've found myself a new favorite bar in town," O'Donnell joked, when he saw that his star was in front of the tavern. "Very fitting to have the Irishmen out here."
