Carrie Underwood gives birth to her first child, a son

LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Music star Carrie Underwood has announced on Instagram the birth of her first child, a son.

"Tiny hands and tiny feet...God has blessed us with an amazing gift! Isaiah Michael Fisher - born on February 27. Welcome to the world, sweet angel!" the singer captioned a Tuesday photo that focuses on the newborn's hand.

Underwood married professional hockey player Mike Fisher in July 2010.
