LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Suge Knight complained of vision and comprehension problems in court Monday before he was hospitalized for the third time since his arrest on a murder charge.

Knight appeared in court before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Brandlin, saying he wanted to fire his attorney James E. Blatt.

He also complained of health problems and a lack of medical care in jail.

"Since I have been here," Knight said, "I've lost about 30 pounds."

"I can't really see," he added. "I can't really comprehend what's going on."

He interrupted Brandlin at one point, resulting in a sharp rebuke from the judge.

After the hearing, Knight was taken to the hospital. Since his arrest in January, Knight has twice been rushed to the hospital from the courthouse. He was first hospitalized for a panic attack and during a later hearing he was taken for treatment for injuries related to his shooting last year.

Knight, 49, was arrested Jan. 30 for allegedly striking two people with his vehicle, killing one and injuring the other. He was charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and two counts of hit-and-run.

He was on the set of the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, with Dr. Dre and Ice Cube at the scene, when he reportedly got into a fight with two men.

Terry Carter, a 55-year-old tow truck driver, died.
