Lupita Nyong'o's pearl-covered gown stolen from her hotel room

The dress, which was adorned with 6,000 white Akoya pearls, is valued at $150,000.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The gorgeous, pearl-covered gown Lupita Nyong'o wore to Sunday's Oscars ceremony was stolen from her hotel room at The London West Hollywood.

TMZ said the actress was not in the room when the exquisite frock was snatched some time between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The dress, which was adorned with 6,000 white Akoya pearls, is valued at $150,000.

Nyong'o was a presenter at last weekend's Oscars ceremony. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress last year for her performance in 12 Years a Slave.
