ROSWELL, Ga., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Bobbi Kristina Brown has been placed on a ventilator at North Fulton Hospital in Georgia after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub due to an apparent drug overdose, TV's Entertainment Tonight reported.

TMZ said she also has been placed in a medically induced coma for swelling of the brain and is being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.

Brown is the 21-year-old daughter of R&B artist Bobby Brown and his ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston, who drowned nearly three years ago in a hotel bathtub while intoxicated. She was 48.

A source close to the family told ET, Brown did not attempt suicide, however it was "no coincidence" the circumstances of her medical emergency Saturday morning echoed those of her mother's death.

Roswell Police Officer Lisa Holland said police responded to a 911 call at Brown's home at 10:25.

"Her husband [Nick Gordon] and a friend located her in a bathtub this morning and she was unresponsive. He started CPR and a police officer took over life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived. She was transported to the hospital. Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers," Holland said in a statement to ET.

Brown has since been stabilized.

"She's still breathing; she is alive," Holland told reporters later Saturday afternoon.

ET said Bobby Brown immediately flew to Georgia to be with his daughter. TMZ said filmmaker Tyler Perry accompanied Brown to the hospital.

"Privacy is requested in this matter," Bobby Brown said in a statement to E! News Sunday afternoon. "Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."
