LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Lana Del Rey has already written nine songs for her upcoming fifth studio album, Honeymoon. The 29-year-old singer opened up about the feel of the album, and the tracks she wrote for Tim Burton's biopic Big Eyes in a recent interview with Billboard.

"It's very different from the last one and similar to the first two [albums], Born to Die and Paradise," she said of the new album, a follow up to 2014's Ultraviolence.
"I finished my last one in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It's growing into something I really like. I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It's been good."
Asked if she had written everything herself, Del Rey revealed she's doing a cover of Nina Simone's "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
"After doing a cover of [Jessie Mae Robinson's] 'The Other Woman,' I like summarizing the record with a jazz song. I'm having fun with my interpretation," she said.
As for the two tracks she wrote for Burton's film, Del Rey said Harvey Weinstein reached out to her about writing more soundtracks for The Weinstein Co. films after her success with "Young and Beautiful" in The Great Gatsby.
"Because he knew I loved Tim Burton, Harvey said, 'Why don't you write a title track, something with the chorus of 'big eyes'?'" she recalled. "Tim was nice enough to listen to it, and he liked it."
Del Rey's "Big Eyes," which plays in the middle of the film, is nominated for Golden Globe as is a contender for Best Original Song for the Academy Awards.
"[It] was meant to sum up her tale with a bit of my own personal imagery," Del Rey said of the track.
Her second song for the movie is titled "I Can Fly," and it will play over the film's credits.
Del Rey's upcoming studio album is scheduled for a 2015 release.
