Chen-tun was released after a 14-day administrative detention but Chan remains under custody.

Jackie Chan, who was a goodwill ambassador for the China Anti-Drug Committee in 2009, addressed his son's arrest days after the fact and stated he was "very ashamed" of his actions.

Chan's arrest came about two years after the Chinese government announced its zero-tolerance policy against illegal substances. His trial yet had not yet been revealed.
