Angelina Jolie says marriage to Brad Pitt is 'hard work'

SYDNEY, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Angelina Jolie opened up about her sheltered marriage with Brat Pitt in a recent interview for Australian Women's Weekly.

"[Brad and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected," the actress told the publication of the wake of the publication of a series photos in which the couple appears to be fighting.

"Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn't get in the way. That you don't do something that is going to put too much strain on your family."

Jolie, 39, reportedly shared details about her secret nuptials to Pitt and her six children for her cover story for the magazine.

"They're six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives," she said of the couple's six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. "We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining," she says.

As for married life, the Oscar-winning actress says she is "very happy to be married" and enjoys being able to refer to the acclaimed actor as "my husband."
