Kanye West, Usher to be honored at the 2015 BET Awards

The BET Honors 2015 will be taped at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 and will air on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at 9:00 p.m.

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Musicians Kanye West and Usher will be among those honored by the BET Network at the eight annual BET Honors.

The network revealed its list of extraordinary honorees Tuesday, which also features the likes of Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole, Phylicia Rashaud and John W. Thompson.

The BET Honors 2015 will be taped at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 and will air on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. The ceremony will be hosted by actor and comedian Wayne Brady.

The network said in a statement that profits from the private sale of The BET Honors would benefit the National Cares Mentoring Program, a movement that connects mentors with local youth in an effort to nourish and champion them.
