George Lucas won't watch the teaser for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

“I don’t know anything about it," Lucas said when asked if he'd seen the new Star Wars trailer.

HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- The official trailer for JJ Abram's highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens has over 45 million views on YouTube alone -- but franchise creator George Lucas says he h' seen itasnt.

"I don't know anything about it," the 70-year-old filmmaker told Page Six when asked if he's seen the much-discussed trailer.

In addition to being online, the trailer is currently in theaters nationwide after a preview showing on just 30 screens.

"I haven't seen it yet."

Despite personally choosing Abrams to helm his legendary franchise, Lucas says he's not interesting in checking on his successor's new vision until a final product is ready for audiences.

"It's not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there ... I plan to see it when it's released."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in production and currently slated to hit theaters December 2015.
