Snooki slims down to 99 pounds weeks after giving birth

Polizzi's trainer said that while her new weight might seem alarming to some, she is in fact "perfectly healthy" because of her small frame.

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi has been working hard to shed the weight she gained during her pregnancy, and according to her trainer, she has slimmed down to 99 pounds just seven weeks after giving birth to her second child.

Polizzi's trainer, Anthony Michael, recently opened up to E! News about the strict diet and fitness routine followed by the former Jersey Shore star and revealed a few of the secrets behind her impressive weight loss.

"We've been doing some high intensity interval training," said explained. "It's a type of cardio, it's very short, you only do it 10-15 minutes. It's about spiking the heart rate. We're also doing plyometrics, cardio, etc. Right now it's all really geared for weight loss, then she wants to focus on lean muscle mass once she's married."

Polizzi is set to marry Johnny LaValle in a Great Gatsby-themed ceremony on Nov. 29. The reality star has been preparing for the big day by completing her workout regime with a diet that includes "decreasing her carbs" and "reducing calorie intake" overall," according to Michael.

The trainer pointed out that while Polizzi's new weight might seem alarming to some, she is in fact "perfectly healthy" because of her small frame.

"[She's] so little," Anthony said of Polizzi, who is 4-feet 8-inches tall.
