"My family is probably one of the strongest families I know, so we'll get through this," the teenager said.

NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Gia Giudice is certain her family will bounce back after parents Joe and Teresa Giudice complete their prison sentences for fraud.

The 13-year-old opened up about her family in an interview with Access Hollywood. Joe and Teresa were sentenced to 41 and 15 months in prison, respectively, on multiple counts of fraud in October, and will serve their terms separately on account of Gia and their three other daughters.

"Honestly, obviously, any news that is hurtful or, like, horrible to hear is so upsetting," the teenager admitted. "My family is probably one of the strongest families I know, so we'll get through this. It's gonna be fine. And when it's over, we're gonna be better than ever."

While Gia is upset by the situation, she plans to keep busy with her band, 3KT, with friends Alexa Maetta and Christianna Cardinale. The group raised eyebrows with their first music video, a risqué cover of Britney Spears' "Circus," but the girls aren't concerned by the fuss.

"We obviously got our parents' approval," Gia asserted. "My parents think it's fun. Like, my mom was there every step of the way. And when my dad saw it, he was like, 'Nice, Gia,' like, typical laid-back. So it's good. I just want to make them proud. That's all that matters."

Joe and Teresa Giudice came to fame on Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2009. Teresa will serve her sentence first, and will be incarcerated at a prison in Danbury, Conn., in January 2015.
